From Miami to Manhattan: Must-See Exhibitions, Galleries, and Events at Armory Week 2025 Aug 28
Miami Living
As art lovers from Miami and beyond head north to New York for one of the biggest moments in the American art calendar, Armory Week 2025 promises an expansive celebration of contemporary and modern art. Running from September 4–8, the week spans dozens of fairs, gallery openings, and museum exhibitions across the city — with international galleries, influential curators, and emerging artists all contributing to a dynamic cultural landscape.
At the heart of it all is The Armory Show, returning to the Javits Center with a lineup that includes the Curatorial Leadership Summit, this year led by Eric Crosby, Director of the Carnegie Museum of Art. The fair also highlights under-recognized voices: Berry Campbell (Booth 443) champions historic women artists such as Alice Baber, Lynne Drexler, and Mercedes Matter, while Library Street Collective (Booth 447) explores intuitive abstraction through works by Patrick Alston, Gary Lang, and Basil Kincaid. Meanwhile, Sean Kelly Gallery (Booth 207) unveils powerful new works by Lindsay Adams, Hugo McCloud, and Janaina Tschäpe — including a vivid blue canvas by Anthony Akinbola, who opens his solo exhibition Camouflage on September 5.
