Price Check! Here’s What Sold—and For How Much—at Art Basel Hong Kong 2025
Artnet News
The 2025 edition of Art Basel Hong Kong 2025, and its 242 exhibitors have set sail. The consensus view of the week? Business was a bit better than expected, but the art market remains tough. Ultra-wealthy spenders were on hand, but everyone is being cautious. The boom years feel like they were very, very long ago. Threats of a global trade war from President Donald J. Trump are not helping matters.
But enough of that dark talk! We are here to discuss art sales, and to savor a little price transparency. Following below are works at the fair that found buyers. Let’s quickly note some important caveats before we proceed to those juicy numbers. These sales were reported by dealers and the fair. Not all exhibitors choose to disclose transactions, so if a gallery is absent, it does not mean that they failed to sell. Also, there is no uniform method of disclosure, which is why some sales carry price ranges and why some artworks are identified only by an artist’s name. When prices were reported in a currency other than the U.S. dollar, they were converted into greenbacks and rounded for easy reading.
And with that, let’s head to the list!
