Berry Campbell is pleased to announce its participation in The Armory Show 2023. The gallery will present a finely curated presentation of 12 post-war women artists as an extension of its curatorial program. For the last decade, Berry Campbell has had a distinct focus re-examining underrepresented women artists of the twentieth century.
This exhibition will include three important Lynne Drexler paintings from the artist’s estate that have not previously been offered on the market. Along with Drexler, the presentation will feature a seminal painting by Yvonne Pickering Carter, who lives and works in Washington, D.C. Carter’s The Ovum was featured in the artist’s 1973 solo exhibition at Howard University. The booth will also feature a 1989 painting by San Francisco Bay Area Abstract Expressionist, Bernice Bing. Just this year, Bing was the first modern artist to have been given a solo exhibition at the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco.
Artists included in this group presentation are Alice Baber, Bernice Bing, Yvonne Pickering Carter, Elaine de Kooning, Dorothy Dehner, Lynne Drexler, Perle Fine, Judith Godwin, Grace Hartigan, Charlotte Park, Ethel Schwabacher, and Yvonne Thomas.
